Is Alice a fall detector?
Alice is not a fall detector and should not be relied upon in the event of a fall, nor for any other type of emergency. Alice is designed to help reassure family and friends that a loved one is moving about through the day, while preserving privacy.
How many rooms does each Alice cover?
In a typical home, each Alice sensor will cover one or two rooms. We recommend you place each sensor in a room you use most often. One sensor is often enough for most people, but you can buy more sensors for additional coverage.
Does Alice require WiFi to work?
Currently Alice requires a WiFi (wireless) internet connection in the home. We may offer cellular connections in the future.
Can I buy Alice for a parent or friend?
Yes, as part of the purchase process, we will ask you for the name of the customer and will configure the tablet for that person.
What is your refund policy?
We offer no-questions-asked refunds to all customers within 14 days of purchase. If you are not satisfied with Alice, then simply send us an email letting us know you would like to cancel the service. We will send you a refund once we receive the tablet back from you. After 14 days, you may cancel your monthly subscription anytime, but the tablet can no longer be returned for a refund.
Can the tablet distinguish between me and my big dog?
It is possible that the Alice tablet might pick up the movement of a large dog, but proper placement will minimize the likelihood this will happen. Place the tablet on a counter or shelf that is three feet or more above the floor, and set it back from the edge for best results.
Will the Alice tablet work in the dark?
The tablet does not work in the dark. Low lighting such as you would get from a nightlight is enough for it to accurately track movement.
Can I install the Alice app on my own Android tablet?
The Alice app will only work on the tablet provided by Atlas5D, to ensure reliability and security.
